When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
QuickTime Player
This little app opens when you double-click any kind of movie file. Press Play to play and stop the show. The control toolbar at the bottom of the window fades away after a few seconds and reappears anytime your mouse moves back into the movie frame. Click the Full Screen button (
) to make the video fill your entire monitor, just as though you’d chosen View→Enter Full Screen.
But wait, there’s more! QuickTime Player is also QuickTime Editor. You can:
Edit movies using the Trim, Split, Cut, Copy, and Paste commands in the Edit menu.
Record movies (using your Mac’s camera) using File→New Movie Recording.
Record screen activity by choosing File→New Screen Recording and then clicking the red Record button. Click the
button to stop recording.Export your video directly to YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, or Facebook by choosing from the
menu. Sign into your online account, enter keywords and so on, and then click Share. (The same menu lets you send the movie as an email attachment, an iMessage, or a transmission to a nearby Mac by AirDrop.) Or use File→Export to save the movie to your ...
