I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
First, we will perform the initial configuration of the physical server:
- As VMM installs Hyper-V server role during bare-metal deployment, ensure that machine BIOS is configured to support virtualization technology. Intel VT or AMD-V should be turned on as well as Execute Disable Bit (EDB) (XD bit, Intel Systems) or No Execution Bit (NX bit, AMD systems).
Hyper-V in Windows Server 2016 requires SLAT-compatible CPU. Check CPU specification or use systeminfo.exe to get Hyper-V compatibility report.
- Enable booting from a network adapter for access to the Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE).
