I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
Before you start creating a hyper-converged cluster, there are some requirements that you need to look at. These may also be applied to the S2D converged model:
- At least two identical servers are required. In this recipe, we will use four servers with the same hardware, firmwares and configuration.
While Hyper-V cluster can consist of a maximum of 64 nodes, S2D supports up to 16 nodes. If you plan to scale up compute resources to over 16 nodes, you may consider the converged model instead.
- There must be a minimum of four drives per server. S2D supports SATA, SAS or NVME drives connected via internal or external storage enclosures. These disks must not be presented as part of RAID arrays, as RAID controllers are not supported. ...
