I’ve already mentioned this,
though will reinforce the point:
when masking you will also use
the transform controls to position
both foreground and background
images in relation to each other.
Some masks do not require a
background image, the default in
Final Cut Pro X, is the mask will
cut through to black if no image
is placed in the background.
However, when two or more
images are composited together,
then it is positioning these images in relation to each other, using the transform
controls, which makes the composite image effective.
When compositing two separate images together, particularly when using the
Draw Mask or the Shape ...
