In Final Cut Pro X you can edit the
Multicam footage native—depending
on how powerful your computer is and
which codec has been recorded—or,
you can convert the camera footage into
Proxies, enabling Final Cut Pro X to deal
with the content at low resolution, before you then switch to full resolution for
output.
You can also set Final Cut Pro X, within Playback preferences, to Create Optimized
media. This means, if the original codec is diffi cult to work with, Final Cut Pro X
will then convert the footage to ProRes for editing.
