When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
THE REALIZATION
Vince was not about to sit down. “Why?”
Jamie smiled, not so much amused as surprised and concerned. “So you really don’t know why they aren’t bigger?”
“Well, I don’t think they’re as good as we are at winning business. I mean, whenever it comes down to a head-to-head competition between us and them in the final stages of bidding, they win most of the time. But it seems that more often than not, they don’t even get to the final round. They just disappear after the first round of discussions.”
“That’s it?” Jamie asked.
“Well, I do think they waste a lot of time on all of this internal stuff, and that has to detract from their ability to grow more aggressively. No one has that kind of time to waste these days.” Jamie knew that ...
