IGBT Applications

Abstract
Insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) are used in many household appliances. The IGBT-based circuits for large applications such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, induction cooktops, and dishwashers are described. The control of small appliances such as rice cookers, blenders, juice makers, mixers, food processors, and vacuum cleaners using IGBTs is discussed. The use of IGBTs in television sets with cathode ray tubes and plasma panels is described.
