I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

AN UNEXPECTED LIFELINE DURING HURRICANE IAN
Sometimes an HR professional takes care of other HR profession-
als in a completely unexpected way at a time of stress, uncer-
tainty, and instability—in this case, even when surrounded by
devastation. Between September 28 and October 3, 2022, south-
west Florida experienced Hurricane Ian—a nearly category 5 hurri-
cane with sustained damaging winds and massive storm surges.
A category 5 hurricane has sustained winds of 157mph, which
Hurricane Ian didn’t quite reach, but that was little consolation
as we lived through it. With those sustained winds of 155mph,
Hurricane Ian hit our area directly on Wednesday, September 28.
