‘You see but you do not observe.’ A famous quote from master observer and detective Sherlock Holmes, written by Arthur Conan Doyle. You might see things every day, but do you really notice them? There’s a difference between just seeing something and actually observing it. When we observe, we not only notice our surroundings, but we also take in the details. When we observe, we also register. And when we register, we can use that information to make conscious decisions on how to act upon that information.
