So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Challenges Faced by Career Professionals
A major part of any professional's development occurs when that person takes on a job assignment that provides sufficient challenge, while exposing him or her to totally new aspects of the organization's operation. In addition, a well-considered job assignment provides an individual with a "taste test" of what it might be like to work within a totally different job context or leadership role. If they are challenging enough, job assignments can also provide professionals with methods for testing the upper limits of their leadership and technical skills and for forcing the accelerated development of those skills.
