ExpressRoute
ExpressRoute is the most advanced type of VPN connection. It offers a fast connection from your on-premises infrastructure to the Azure via your internal WAN, unlike S2S connections, which go over the internet. By using your WAN, ExpressRoute can provide faster speeds, lower latency, and higher security than an S2S connection. The maximum bandwidth that can be provided per ExpressRoute circuit is 10 GBps. With ExpressRoute, you can also set up hybrid connections with Office 365 and Dynamics 365. ExpressRoute also guarantees a connection uptime SLA, whereas S2S doesn't.
ExpressRoute offers the following connection models:
