It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Locally Redundant Storage
LRS is the cheapest option, which replicates the data three times within the same data center. When you make a write request to your storage account, it will synchronously be written during this request to all three replicas. The request is committed when the data is completely replicated. With LRS, the data will be replicated across multiple update domains and fault domains within one storage scale unit.
