So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Political History
The political history of ancient Assam, once called Pragjyotisha and Kamarupa, began with the Varman dynasty. They came to power during the time of the Gupta Empire, which was then a major force in India. Essentially, the Varmans and the Guptas were ruling at the same time in different regions.

- The Varmans (350-650)
- The Salastambha (655-900)
- The Palas (900-1100)
Varman Dynasty
Establishment: The Varman dynasty marked its beginning in ancient Assam’s region of Kamarupa around the middle to the later half of the 4th century AD This period was characterized by regional powers carving out their domains, with the Varmans securing their territory in what is now known as Assam.
