Srimanta Sankardev
- He was born in 1449 A.D. at Bordowa of Nagaon district.
- After his parents’ death, he was raised by his grandmother Khersuti.
- He went to pilgrimage 1481 and returned after 12 years.
- Propagated the Neo Vaishnavite religion.
- Established Satra and Naamghar in various places (Barpeta, Patbausi, Madhupur, Majuli, Belguri and others).
- He created Bhaona and Bargeet.
- Literary work includes Harichandra Upakhyan, Rukmini Haran Kavya, Kirtan, translation of the first, second, third, seventh, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth chapters of Bhagawat, Ajamil Upakhyan, Samvad, Anadi Patan, Pradip, Gunamala others all related to spiritual texts; six Ankiya naats namely Patni Prasad, Kaliya Daman, Rukmini Haran, ...
