ere is something decidedly decadent about the images Helena Fredriksson uses to rep-
resent her work: dilapidated buildings in a natural setting that evoke a gray, autumnal,
nostalgic landscape. Born in Sweden, Helena soon relocated to New York, where she found
a new home in the lively borough of Brooklyn.
Her training is apparent in the attention to volumes, patterns, the simple forms of her
garments, and the palette of muted and pure tones she employs. Her designs are uncom-
