Back in 2008 when the App Store rst opened, I was aempting to ex my start-up
muscles by running a video game website aimed at parents and families. Aer spend-
ing nearly 20 years running magazines and websites like Electronic Gaming Monthly,
1UP.com, and the Ocial US PlayStation Magazine, I’d decided it was time to try and
do something for people my own age. I was further motivated by having had kids fair-
