Frequently, some or all of the explanatory variables in a logistic regression analysis are continuous. Analysis strategies are the same as those described in previous sections, except in the evaluation of goodness of fit.
The following data are from the same study on coronary artery disease as previously analyzed; in addition, the continuous variable AGE is an explanatory variable. The variable ECG is now treated as an ordinal variable, with values 0, 1, and 2. ECG is coded 0 if the ST segment depression is less than 0.1, 1 if it equals 0.1 or higher but less than 0.2, and 2 if the ST segment depression is greater than or equal to 0.2.
