NaNは、沈黙NaNとシグナルNaNがある。算術式の評価でシグナル NaNが生じると、
浮動小数点環境の例外フラグを
FE_INVALID
に設定する。沈黙 NaNは例外フラグを設定し
ない。

丸めモードと評価法
ヘッダ float.hの次の2つのマクロは浮動小数点算術の詳細を示す。
FLT_ROUNDS
現在の丸め方向を表し、float.hで定義するマクロの中で唯一実行中に値が変更で
きるマクロ。次の値を持つ。
-1 未定
0 0に向かう
1 最も近い表現可能値に向かう
2 次に大きい値に向かう
3 次に小さい値に向かう
他の値は実装定義丸めモードを表す。実装が異なる丸めモードをサポートするな
ら、関数
fesetround()
を呼び出して有効丸めモードを変更できる。
FLT_EVAL_METHOD
マクロ
FLT_EVAL_METHOD
は可能値の1つをとるが、プログラム実行中に変更されな
い。このマクロは浮動小数点数演算内部で使われる浮動小数点フォーマットを示
す。内部フォーマットはオペランドの型よりも、精度が高く値範囲が広いことがあ
る。
