We consider data obtained from a PET study using [

C]diprenorphine. The
original intention of the study was to quantify opioid receptor concentration
in the br ain of healthy subjects allowing a baseline to be found for subsequent
studies on diseases such as epilepsy which tend to involve changes in brain re-
ceptor concentrations or occupancy levels either due to physical lesions within
the bra in or other chemically relevant differences from controls.
These data have been previously analysed in [36, 56], who focussed on the
parameter estimation pr oblem, and by [77] who applied MCMC and gener-
alised harmonic mean estimation to the problem. Another data set from the
