An m-derived LPF (Low-Pass Filter) section is a circuit section that is cascaded with the prototype section in order to improve the performance of the prototype section. More than one such m-derived section may be employed in a practical filter. Each such section results in the overall filter, providing zero gain (infinite attenuation) at a frequency above the cut-off frequency of the prototype section. We use T-sections in our discussion almost exclusively. Results for Π-Sections will be arrived at by comparison.
