I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Wrapping an image for your machine
One aspect that is often neglected until the very end of any BSP support layer development is creating a ready-to-use image for the machine. The type of image we will use depends on multiple aspects: the processor, peripherals included on the board, and project restrictions.
The most frequently-used type of images for direct use on the storage is the partitioned image. The Yocto Project has a tool, called wic, which provides a flexible way to generate those images. It allows the creation of partitioned images based on a template file (wks) written in a common language that describes the target image layout.
