It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Baking for Raspberry Pi 3
In order to add this board support to our project, we need to include the meta-raspberrypi meta layer, which is the BSP layer with support for the Raspberry Pi boards, including the Raspberry Pi 3, but not limited to this. The meta layer can be accessed at http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/meta-raspberrypi.
To create the source structure, please run the following command lines:
$ mkdir sources$ cd sources$ git clone --branch rocko git://git.yoctoproject.org/poky$ git clone --branch rocko git://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-raspberrypi$ git clone --branch rocko git://git.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded
The final directory structure you should have is shown in the following figure:
