Changing a Template

Office has a selection of premade Excel templates designed for you to use. These templates are available in the Start or New screen under Featured (New!). If you like one of these templates, you can use it as the basis of your own template. To customize one, open the template, make the changes you want, and then save it. If you save the original template back in the same location with the same name as the original, you create a new default template. The original one is replaced by the newly saved template. If you don’t want to change the original, save the template in your My Templates or Custom Office Templates folder.
