Changing Chart Elements

The layout of a chart typically comes with a chart title, X and Y axes, axis titles, and a legend. However, you can also include other elements, such as data labels, a data table, and gridlines. A legend is a set of labels that helps the reader connect the colors and patterns in a chart with the data they represent. Legend text is derived from the data series plotted within a chart. You can rename an item in a legend by changing the text in the data series. If the legend location doesn’t work with the chart, you can reposition it.
