Performing calculations is an important part of working with Excel. To customize the way you work with formulas, you can set options on the Formulas pane in the Excel Options dialog box. If you need to create a nested function (one that references itself), you can set a calculation option to enable iterative calculations. Instead of using the A1 cell reference style, you can use the R1C1 cell reference style, which labels columns and row numerically.
Click the File tab, and then click Options.
