Saving or Exporting Data in XML

After you finish working with your XML document, you can save or export the data for use in other XML compatible documents and applications. You can save the contents of a mapped range with the XML Data format or XML Spreadsheet format. The XML Data format is an independent XML industry standard that uses a separate XML schema, while the XML Spreadsheet format is a specialized Excel XML file that uses its own XML schema to store information, such as file properties.

Save XML Data

Image Open the worksheet with the XML data.

Click the File tab, click Save As, click Computer, and then click Browse.

Click the Save as ...
