We have seen that the solution isn't optimal, but it can be used quite seamlessly with the existing code as it removed the biggest performance hit, that is, reading and parsing the SVG file. Another insight here is that sometimes the overly generic requirements cannot be simply removed at a later stage in the project and that some creative workarounds are needed.
