Should we use it?

Strictly speaking, QFutureInterface is an internal Qt class that shouldn’t be used externally and it even lacks any official documentation! However, its usage isn’t unknown in the Qt community and, when you look at Qt Creators’s source code, you will see that it is used quite pervasively there. Thus, the chances are good that it won’t vanish all of a sudden, at least in Qt 5. In Qt 6, this area could perhaps be refactored, but major versions break code compatibility anyway.
