Hacks 93–100
iTunes is an awesome piece of software but, believe it or not, it doesn’t do everything. For example, iTunes can’t help you stream your music over the Web [Hack #95] or share your music with your friends via iDisk [Hack#97].
Or sometimes iTunes does too much, and you’d rather just play your music without any of its various whistles and bells. If you’re a Unix-savvy Mac user, you might want to play music from the command line [Hack #93] or otherwise hack it from the Terminal [Hack #94] .
Got some old records lying around that you want to digitize [Hack #99] ? Care to create your own audiobook [Hack #100] ? If you’re looking to do more with your music than iTunes offers, then this chapter is for you.
At the very least, everyone needs to back up their music collection [Hack #98] , which requires moving beyond iTunes.
