Lean system
In the course of this book we have outlined a systematic approach to managing mate-
rials and the supply chain using Lean tools. We’d be remiss if we didn’t clearly out-
line the specifics regarding what you need to do with your current system. As we
have stated throughout the chapters, there are specific, concrete reasons for why you
don’t simply want to use your current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
We need to step back and approach this holistically, rather than try to cobble a solu-
