Software Requirements for Exchange Servers
In addition to the requirements listed in the previous section, you'll need specific software on the Exchange server itself in order for Exchange to install and work properly. All of the dependency components are included with Windows. To successfully complete the installation of Exchange 2003, the components discussed briefly in the following subsections must be installed and enabled on the computer.
