How to do it...

1. In order to set up multiple companies in Odoo, the multi-company feature has to be activated. Go to Settings | General Settings, search for the Manage multiple companies option, and enable it:

As soon as you select the Manage multiple companies option, the Manage Inter Company option will appear, and you can select it if you want to automate intercompany transaction based on the rules. Click on APPLY to save the setting.

If you do not plan to use either Sales or Purchase or Inventory application, it is suggested to not activate the Manage Inter Company feature as it will install Sales, Purchase and Inventory application, ...
