15.1 SUMMARY
Projects to select off-the-shelf IT solutions are common, but under-appreciated and often high risk. They are damaging if they fail, entirely or even partially, which is also common.
This book has presented a systematic method to yield a successful procurement. The approach is proven (see Appendix 2). It optimises project, process and organisational risk. It defends against skewing your selection by a small management elite, by the IT department or by the candidate suppliers.
