Before the pandemic brought global travel to its knees, I criss-crossed the globe, working with organizations to help them harness the power of OKRs. One day, while unpacking in my hotel room, I noticed a buzzing sound in the room. After a frustrating search for the source of this phantom intruder, I arranged to change rooms. On my way to the front desk for my new key, the buzzing continued down the hallway and elevator. “How could this not be driving everyone mad?” I wondered. At the front desk, the buzzing finally subsided. What a relief! But when I opened the door of my new room and set my things down … buzzing! I’m pretty sure that piping in constant buzzing is a torture technique employed with great effectiveness by evildoers far and wide.
