I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating custom indexes
The following procedure describes how to create a custom index definition to support faster queries and sorting operations on one or more custom columns:
- Navigate to the S_ORG_EXT table.
- Check out or lock the table if necessary.
- In the Object Explorer, expand the Table type and select the Index type.
- In the Indexes list create a new record.
- Set the Name to
S_ORG_EXT_AHA1.Note
A suffix of
_Xwill be added automatically. - In the Object Explorer, expand the Index type and select the Index Column type.
- In the Index Columns list, create a new record with the following values:
- Column Name:
X_AHA_EXT_1 - Sequence:
1 - Sort Order:
Asc
- Column Name:
- Compile the S_ORG_EXT table.
- Apply the database changes (see upcoming section).
