This chapter looks at one of the areas of assessment that is not entirely based on
your professional work experience: the written examinations. That said, it is important
to understand that the different elements of the Part 3 examination as a whole are
closely linked, often overlapping. It is difficult to know which of the different schools
of architecture and assessment centres to choose when they structure their Part 3
examination in different ways. It is sensible to investigate how different centres assess
candidates to be sure of selecting the one that suits you best. However, the choice is
likely to be limited as each centre is assessing the same material to the same standard
based on the Criteria.
