In a knowledge-based profession it is essential to keep up to date and in touch with
issues that affect the profession. Just when you thought it was all over, it seems unfair
to burden you with another long-term educational requirement. The ARB and RIBA
Codes make it explicit that you must be competent to practise. To remain competent
also requires keeping up to date and you should allocate time to this. You may have
completed a Personal Development Plan as part of your preparations for Part 3 and the
