of Part 3 as professional and legal knowledge. Architectural practices operate to project
timetables that are often pre-set and non-negotiable. Part 3 operates in a similar
environment but may prove more flexible. Key Part 3 dates, including examinations and
hand-in dates, are generally set well in advance. Most universities run to an annual cycle
whereas office planning is usually more short term. It is therefore important that you
circulate these key dates to relevant people in the office as well as recording them in a
