than the school of architecture, commenting on the conduct and fairness of all aspects of
the examination, including the interview and commenting on the parity, or otherwise, with
standards elsewhere. They will also be required to confirm – or not, depending on the
quantity of the comments – if all the ARB/RIBA Criteria have been met. External examiner
reports are therefore an essential part of the quality assurance process. The reports
