The first time I decided to carve letters onto an eraser I intuited the method without really thinking. Later, I realized that I had based my method on a street artist I watched in Mexico about fourteen years prior. As I carved out words for the first time, I didn’t remember watching the artist work as he carved, “Mi amor” into a key, but somehow recalled the method he used to do it. To me, this is proof that not only does street art and performance have so much value as we connect as humans but taking the time to watch and support the arts benefits us as much as the artists.
