7Carving Depth
One common question I am asked about carving so small is how I manage to get the level of detail on such a tiny surface. The answer is using the right blades and how deeply I carve into the surface. The eraser’s softness makes carving at different depths fun and easy.
When carving a design, I have three different depths that I carve to. This is not highly technical, and has its pros and cons, but here it is:
Depth 1: Tiniest details
Depth 2: The first pass
Depth 3: Cleaning it up
