Erasers. Rubber or acrylic erasers of many brands have been tested by carvers around the world, and we have yet to find one that is not up to the job. If you have an old, dried-up eraser in the bottom of your backpack, use it! Remember, people have been carving wood blocks longer than linoleum and rubber. A fresh box of erasers will be ready to carve and will feel so nice to cut into, but human beings have been creating art with just about anything for a very long time, so being creative and willing with what is available to you could lead to something amazing or at least can tide you over until your erasers arrive in the mail.
