Strong foundations. It’s important to consider how to set up your compositing workspace. Although some artists may start with their large background image as the “base,” it can be useful to start with a new document as the basis for a composite. This enables you to precisely target an output type. More specifically, if your image is destined exclusively for the Web, there is little point in consuming extra processing resources, RAM, and time by using a huge image from your DSLR as the working file.
