Abstract
Over time, more and more people have been relying on technology to access information such as traffic patterns, shortest routes to travel, nearby hotels, and in the case of emergencies, hospitals. There has been a growth in mobile devices, IoT devices, and AI systems, with a simultaneous peak in the ability to process data on a large scale. With the help of the artificial intelligence of things (AIoT), the world is shifting to smart cities in order to effectively mange transportation, waste, and lighting. Moreover, we are continuing to figure out how the data generated by both humans and machines can be applied to enhance smart cities. Before AI came along, it was difficult to manage the resources, waste, and energy produced in megacities with populations of 10-20 million inhabitants in order to improve their quality of life. There has been a huge shift with even smaller changes. Since AI and IoT are the future of the world, the objective of this chapter is to study the impact of IoT and AI on human lives, including its upcoming applications in smart cities around the world
