Abstract
Artificial internet of things (AIoT) is a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) technologies. The AIoT is capable of providing the decision-making ability of AI and connectivity and information exchange feature of IoT. Smart cities are referred to as technological supported innovations in urban areas. Now, as many cities have IoT embedded throughout their infrastructure, data obtained from these devices can be linked to AI to autonomously provide solutions to common problems in smart cities. Smart city solutions are transformational initiatives and they grow with time. Hence, AIoT can make urban infrastructure more responsive to the needs of the citizens. It has pioneered a new era in technology and sustainable development. This chapter presents an analytical study of various applications of AIoT for smart cities.
