Error Handling
Error handling is a fundamental part of computer programming and must always be done. This is especially true when you're conducting commerce over the Web with what are, essentially, strangers. When there's a personal face-to-face relationship between buyer and seller, there's a degree of additional credibility that can you can use to recover from errors. This simply doesn't exist in Web commerce. In terms of errors, it's "one and done."
When you're opening files for processing, you need to examine the results of your attempt to open the files to determine if that command has succeeded. The next modification of the previous program will examine the values of some of the properties if the file doesn't load successfully.
