Ethereum transactions

Through transactions, it is possible to transfer ether from one account to another, or from one account to a smart contract, and from a contract to an address. Transactions are also used to invoke the methods exposed by smart contracts, or to deploy them.

The elements making up a transaction are the following:

• The transaction recipient's address
• The sender's signature
• The transaction intention, meaning the smart contract method to be invoked, or the contract deployment request
• The transferred amount of ether
• The gas limit, representing the maximum computational cycles the transaction can execute
• The gas price, representing the cost for the sender associated with each computational cycle
