McDonnell (2012), would see the comment as a positive move, an accommodating strategy,
a way of proceeding while minimizing conict. We will see in the end the result of this
accommodation.
But rst, we need to understand the debate. In the intersection-centric view, cars are
controlled by intersections, and in the car-centric view, cars have start points, destinations,
routes, positions, and speeds. Both perspectives have something to recommend them, but
it is not apparent to the two designers ...
