Abstract
The combination of AI with robotic surgery has brought about a sea change in modern healthcare by providing surgeons with unmatched precision, adaptability, and efficacy during operations. The chapter delves into the history, present state, and potential future of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven robotic surgery, focussing on how it is revolutionizing minimally invasive procedures through computer-controlled robotic equipment. Improving consistency and decreasing surgeon weariness were the original goals of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in robotic surgery, which primarily aimed to automate labor-intensive processes like suturing and tissue dissection. Modern AI systems optimize the real-time manipulation of instruments by utilizing advanced technologies, such as haptic feedback, image detection, and motion control. Surgical precision, patient outcomes, and safety are all enhanced by these devices, which also drastically cut down on human error. Integrating artificial intelligence (ML) models into robotic platforms allows for improved postoperative recovery management and personalized surgical planning by analysing patient-specific data ...
