Business mix by segment
What is your business mix? What products or services does your business offer and to which customer groups? Which count for most in your business?
Your backers don’t like wasting precious time. They want to focus their thoughts on considering those chunks of your business that are most important. There is little point in them pondering the merits of a product you offer to a customer group that only contributes to 1% of your sales. They want to know about the 80%.
Essential tip
Focus on the segments most relevant to the backing decision. These are the ones that make the greatest contribution to your operating profit forecasts over the plan period – the segments that matter to your backer.
